Navajo Rugs are one of a kind textiles made by Navajo weavers throughout different areas the southwest. These rugs are made through the use of a loom and spun wool. The Navajo rug weavers have excelled as rug makers and Navajo Rugs are one of the most highly sought fine rugs in the world.
Navajo Rug designs incorporate many different designs and each has its own identifying traits. Typically, Navajo weavers use geometric and striped patterns to create symmetrical designs, but others may vary. These designs may be colored with different vegetal or commercial dyes.
Many designs can be distinguished by their place of origin. There are fourteen different weaving regions located in the four corners of Navajo land.
