Another style of Navajo rugs is the Chinle rug. Flanked by the Black Mountains to the west and the Chuska to the east, Chinle is a town on the Navajo reservation that is located near the historical Navajo stronghold Canyon De Chelly.
Weavers use all-vegetal or part vegetal and part aniline dye. Navajo Chinle design is strongly reminiscent of the old borderless blanket. The simple Chinle motif is made up of stripes and bands embellished with serrated designs.
