Eye Dazzler, or Red Mesa outline rugs as they are often called, are clearly derived from the eye-dazzler textiles of the Transitional Period- a period where Navajo transitioned from blanket-making to rug-weaving, Navajo weavers often applied bright commercial dyes to their rugs.
They have multiple, stacked, serrated diamonds outlined in different colors, sometimes with borders containing figured elements. Some people do not consider Red Mesa as a separate type from Teec Nos Pos, even though their origins are clearly different.
