Navajo Moqui (Moki) rugs are woven longer-than-wide. The early Navajo Moqui style used zones of repeated thin banding as its basis for zones. These zones might alternate with plain white or other color combonations. Later, weavers included bold red triangles, diamonds, and other motifs on the banded “background.”
