Ranger belts are an outstanding example of the history a piece of jewelry can have. Ranger belts first surfaced in the Americas in Mexico after the arrival of the Spanish.
The concept of the ranger belt was a solution to when horsemen used buckles on horse tack. The buckles often pinched the horses hair which brought discomfort to the horses. The ranger belt is an alternative sinching type buckle that was used. This new buckle had an opening for the buckle to fasten to the leather belt with out any discomfort to the horses.
The invention of hand held pistols left people who needed sturdy belts to attach their gun holsters. The Texas Rangers wore the belts to fasten their pistols to and since then they've been known as ranger belts. People still wear ranger belts today. Teme carries a fine selection of ranger belt sets in gold, silver and inlay that will carry on the legacy of the American ranger belt.
